Bengaluru, June 4, 2025: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has issued a formal clarification refuting claims made in a recent article published by the website [www.idrw.org](http://www.idrw.org). The article alleged that negotiations between HAL and General Electric (GE) regarding the local production of GE414 engines had stalled, and further suggested that HAL was exploring discussions with another engine manufacturer.
HAL categorically dismissed these claims as “factually incorrect and misleading.”
In an official statement, HAL reaffirmed that negotiations with GE for the Transfer of Technology (ToT) related to the GE414 engines are progressing smoothly and remain on track. The company emphasized that no parallel discussions are underway with any other engine manufacturer for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk2 programme.
“HAL reiterates that negotiations with GE are on track and progressing well and that HAL is not in talks with any other company regarding engines for LCA MK2. Any information suggesting otherwise is incorrect,” the statement read.
The clarification seeks to dispel any misinformation and assure stakeholders that the strategic engine development programme remains firmly aligned with its intended course.
