HCL Highlights Safe and Smart Mining at Jaipur Safety Meet 2025

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM Tripartite Safety Committee Meeting 2025 held in Jaipur today (14.10.2025) was chaired by R T Mandekar, Dy. Director General, Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), North-West Zone, Udaipur, and attended by senior officials from Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL), the DGMS (from Udaipur and Ajmer Region – II), trade union representatives from Khetri Copper Complex (KCC) and various service providers/ mine operators to discuss and review mine safety.

Sanjiv Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Copper Ltd., Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, Director (Operation) and Director (Mining) – Addl. charge, graced the occasion along with G D Gupta, ED and Unit Head, KCC, Umesh Singh, ED (Mining), Corporate Office, and other senior officials.

Birduram Saini, General Secretary, representing Khetri Tamba Sramik Sangh (KTSS), the recognised Trade Union of KCC, actively participated in the meeting along with other members.

R T Mandekar, Dy. Director General, DGMS, NWZ, inaugurated a software developed in-house by Hindustan Copper Ltd., “License to Operate (LTO)”, at the Tripartite Safety Committee Meeting today. LTO is a state-of-the-art compliance management solution for Mines Operation built on ERP Oracle EBS.

The LTO software has been developed to streamline and strengthen the organization’s compliance for Mine Operation framework by eliminating reliance on spreadsheets, emails, and manual checklists. It serves as a centralized digital repository encompassing regulatory authorities, rule types, descriptions, particulars, and essential documents — all on a single unified platform. Key features such as automated reminders and alerts, a central versioning model, smart document linkage and a comprehensive audit trail enable efficiency, accuracy, and accountability at every level of the compliance process. This milestone reflects HCL’s unwavering commitment to digital transformation, governance excellence and operational transparency. The forum was thrown open for meaningful discussion, interaction and knowledge-sharing with respect to ensuring safety in mining. Issues were discussed threadbare. The objective of the meeting was to modernize equipment, impart necessary training to the workers, ensure implementation of the safety protocols and discuss ways to improve our daily practices with a mission to ensure Zero Harm in the mines.
