HS Puri lauded BPCL’s exceptional achievements

(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) New Delhi, May 3: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, extended his best wishes to Sanjay Khanna on taking additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), one of India’s leading Oil Marketing Companies and a Maharatna PSU.
During a performance review, Minister Hardeep Singh Puri lauded BPCL’s exceptional achievements in the financial year 2024-25. The company recorded its highest-ever market sales of 52.4 million metric tonnes (MMT), surpassing the previous best of 51.0 MMT. It also achieved a record refinery throughput of 40.5 MMT with 115% capacity utilization.
With a highest-ever capital expenditure of approximately ₹17,000 crore and a strong gross refining margin of \$6.82 per barrel, BPCL registered an impressive profit after tax of ₹13,275 crore.
Marking a significant stride in India’s green energy journey, BPCL successfully commissioned a 5 MW Green Hydrogen (GH2) plant at its Bina refinery in just 15 months. This rapid and cost-effective execution sets a national benchmark and aligns with the company’s strategy to achieve Net Zero emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2040, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
