ICAI conferred with Green Ribbon Champions Award

The Institute of Chartered Accountants India (ICAI) has been conferred with the Green Ribbon Champions Award for Commitment to Sustainable Accounting by Network 18 recognising ICAI’s leadership role and commitment towards sustainability and inspiring work in making the world a greener place.

CA. Aniket S. Talati, President, ICAI received this recognition at an event held on 25th March in Delhi. The Award was presented by Rohit Kumar Singh, Secretary, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.

Speaking on the occasion, CA. Aniket S. Talati, President, ICAI said, “We are honoured to be recognized for our contribution towards developing a sustainable ecosystem in the country. Last year, ICAI successfully hosted one of the largest accountancy events in the world – the 21st edition of the World Congress of Accountants on the theme “Building Trust Enabling Sustainability, attended by more than 10,000 delegates from over 120 countries. With around 8000 tonne of carbon credits, WCOA 2022 was the first Carbon Neutral Congress held in the history of WCOA.

He further added, “ICAI has been at the forefront for leading the sustainability drive in India. ICAI has pioneered initiatives like bringing out Social Audit Framework & Social Audit Standards on 16 thematic focus areas, Standard on Assurance Engagements (SAE) 3410 – “Assurance Engagements on Greenhouse Gas Statements”, Developing the concept of Social Stock Exchange, coming out with Sustainability Reporting Maturity Model (SRMM) Version 2.0. In addition, towards environmental sustainability our focus is to reduce paper consumption by encouraging paperless working, promoting e-meetings and shifting to e- journals. ICAI also actively conducts countrywide Tree Plantation Drives and other sustainable initiatives towards creating a sustainable future.”
