India Announces Key Diplomatic Appointments to Mauritania, Somalia and UN Conference on Disarmament

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| The Government of India has announced three significant diplomatic postings, strengthening its engagement in Africa and multilateral platforms.

Neeraj Agrawal, a 2009-batch Indian Foreign Service officer currently serving in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. His assignment is expected to enhance India’s outreach in the West African region.

Dr. Adarsh Swaika, IFS 2002 and presently the High Commissioner of India to Kenya, has been concurrently accredited as the next Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia. He will continue to be based in Nairobi, reflecting India’s growing cooperation with East African nations.

Charanjeet Singh, IFS 1996, who is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been named India’s next Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva. His appointment underscores India’s continued commitment to global disarmament dialogue and multilateral diplomacy.

These appointments mark a continued effort to strengthen India’s diplomatic footprint across African nations and international institutions.
