(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) In a significant advancement towards achieving 100% electrification, IRCON has successfully completed the statutory inspection of PCEE, followed by a speed trial at full sectional speed, on February 19-20, 2025. The inspected section spans Mariani – Simaluguri – Dibrugarh (151 RKM & 193 TKM) in the Tinsukia Division of Northeast Frontier (N.F.) Railway. Additionally, the Simaluguri Traction Substation (TSS) was back-charged on February 18, 2025, marking another key step in the electrification initiative.

This milestone achievement is poised to significantly enhance operational efficiency by enabling trains to operate on 25kV Electric Traction. The transition to electric traction aligns with the broader vision of creating a sustainable and eco-friendly railway network. By reducing reliance on fossil fuels, the initiative is expected to contribute substantially to cutting carbon emissions, promoting environmental conservation, and ensuring a greener future for railway operations.
