On January 31, 2025, IRCON International successfully completed the Electric Loco Trial between New Cooch Behar Junction and Bamanhat, marking a key achievement in its Mission 100% Electrification. This 50 Route KM (56 Track KM) trial, conducted at the maximum sectional speed in the Alipurduar Division of North East Frontier Railway, is a crucial step toward enhancing operational efficiency. The new electric traction system, operating on 25kV, promises to boost performance while significantly reducing carbon emissions, supporting a sustainable and eco-friendly railway network.
