New Delhi: Ircon International Limited (IRCON) has won three awards during National Awards for Excellence in PSU. The team of IRCON led by Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) S.K. Chaudhary has bagged two awards, ‘Innovation Social Media Outreach’ and ‘Increasing the Geo-strategic Reach’. While S.K. Chaudhary has been conferred with “Exemplary Leader of the Year” award during a virtual edition of National Awards for Excellence in PSU. The virtual edition of the awards ceremony was held on Wednesday.
Hosted by the World HRD Congress, the National Awards for Excellence – PSU recognizes the outstanding initiatives taken by government departments, Public Sector Units and industry leaders as they continue playing important roles in realising the country’s vision of a self-reliant economy and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’The awards are a recognition of S.K.Chaudhary’s extraordinary leadership and making IRCON a nationally and internationally renowned construction organisation comparable with the best in the field covering the entire spectrum of construction activated and services in the infrastructure sector.

Chaudhary’s profile
S.K. Chaudhary is a Civil Engineering Graduate from Delhi College of Engineering (DCE). He passed out in the year 1982 and then obtained Master Degree in Management & System from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has also done a PG Diploma in Alternate Dispute Resolution from Indian Institute of Law. His professional experience spans around 38 years. Prior to join IRCON, he was working with NBCC (India) Limited as Director (Projects) for a period of three years. He was overseeing the implementation & execution and monitoring of projects.During his tenure NBCC gained a wide reputation across the construction industry, the market cap of the company increased 10 folds, and the company was accorded ‘Navratna’ status. Prior to this, he was working with HUDCO as a Sr. Executive Director (Projects) for about seven and a half years. He has obtained experience in project finance, appraisal and monitoring of Housing and Infrastructure Projects across all sectors. He has also undertaken the project appraisal of the flagship schemes of government, such as JNNURM, RAY on PPP etc. He had started his career with IRCON and worked for about 23 years in various capacities. He has handled National & International tendering works having funding from World Bank, ADB etc. along with construction projects involving flyovers, roads, Railway line, etc. He has extensive knowledge in the field of Infrastructure Projects, such as, Highways, Railways, Airports, flyovers and Bridges etc. as well as experience in international market and finance appraisal and feasibility study etc.
