By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|The 17th meeting of NARAKAS (Undertakings-2) was held under the aegis of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, under the chairmanship of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
The meeting was attended by Anshuli Arya, Secretary, Department of Official Language, as the Chief Guest. Mugdha Sinha, Managing Director, India Tourism Development Corporation Limited (ITDC), also participated in the programme.
A significant highlight of the event was the presentation of a Commendation Shield to ITDC in recognition of its outstanding work in promoting and implementing Hindi in official activities. Two ITDC employees were also felicitated for their performance in various Hindi competitions organised as part of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Mugdha Sinha emphasised the importance of expanding the use and promotion of Hindi, particularly in the rapidly evolving digital era. She highlighted the continuing relevance of libraries and suggested that greater efforts should be made to encourage reading and access to Hindi literature.
Sinha also made an important suggestion that Hindi literary books could be presented as awards and recognition at official events. Such an initiative, she noted, could help promote Hindi literature while encouraging employees to develop a stronger reading culture.
The recognition received by ITDC reflects the organisation’s continued efforts towards strengthening the use of Hindi in its official functioning and promoting the objectives of the Government’s Rajbhasha policy.
