New Delhi: In a significant step towards strengthening digital governance and building AI-ready leadership across the public sector, the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), in collaboration with the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), launched the landmark programme, “AI Champions for Digital Governance.”
The inaugural session was addressed by Smt. S. Radha Chauhan, Chairperson, CBC; Vivek Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Government of India; Ms. Mugdha Sinha, Managing Director, ITDC; Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE; and Ganesh Shankar Mishra, Joint Director, LBSNAA.
Organised at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi, the three-day capacity-building programme is being attended by participants from various Central Ministries and Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs), highlighting the growing emphasis on integrating Artificial Intelligence into governance and public administration.
The programme has been carefully designed to combine strategic leadership with practical AI applications. The first day is dedicated to senior leaders and top management, focusing on the strategic adoption of Artificial Intelligence for governance, decision-making, and institutional transformation.
During the next two days, managerial-level participants will undergo intensive hands-on training through four practical batches covering AI-assisted office productivity, intelligent data extraction techniques, Generative AI, predictive analytics, and machine learning. The sessions aim to equip officers with practical skills to improve operational efficiency, enhance decision-making, and promote data-driven governance across public institutions.
The initiative marks another important milestone in the continuing collaboration between ITDC and SCOPE, which have consistently worked together to promote professional excellence and strategic capacity building in the public sector. The association with LBSNAA further strengthens the programme by bringing together administrative expertise and advanced technological learning.
The “AI Champions for Digital Governance” programme is expected to create a cadre of AI-enabled leaders capable of driving innovation, improving public service delivery, and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies across government departments and public sector enterprises. The initiative reflects the Government of India’s commitment to harnessing Artificial Intelligence for building a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric governance ecosystem.
