JNPA Champions ‘Prosperity through Partnership’ at India Maritime Week 2025

(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) Mumbai, November 3, 2025: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s largest container port, made an impressive mark at India Maritime Week 2025, held from October 27 to 31, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. Centered around the theme “Prosperity through Partnership,” JNPA showcased its futuristic projects, technological innovations, and strategic vision for a resilient maritime ecosystem, drawing widespread attention from dignitaries, industry experts, and international delegates.
The JNPA pavilion was visited by Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Vijay Kumar (IAS), and Maharashtra Minister of Marketing and Protocol Jayakumar Jitendrasinh Rawal, who appreciated JNPA’s contribution to India’s maritime progress.
A major highlight of the event was the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth over ₹2,28,300 crore, underscoring JNPA’s leadership in fostering strategic alliances for port-led development. Key collaborations included:
Adani Ports & SEZ – participation at Vadhvan Port for offshore projects (₹26,500 crore) and container terminal development (₹25,000 crore)
Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) – financial support for the Vadhvan Project (₹20,000 crore)
Evergreen Marine Pvt. Ltd. – terminal development at Vadhvan (₹10,000 crore)
HUDCO – financing and infrastructure development at JN Port (₹5,000 crore)
Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) – dredging collaboration for Mumbai and JN Port (₹1,500 crore)
Gulftainer Company Ltd. – terminal development at Vadhvan (₹4,000 crore)
Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Ltd. (IPRCL) – supply of two green tugs to JNPA (₹300 crore)
Boskalis International B.V. – development and maintenance of reclaimed land at Vadhvan (₹26,500 crore)
Aegis Logistics Ltd. – terminal for handling containers, bulk, and liquid cargo (₹20,000 crore)
Bhilosa Industries Ltd. – infrastructure for marine services and sustainability initiatives (₹15,000 crore)
NMDC, Afcons Infrastructure Ltd., NCC Ltd., WAN HAI Lines, HCC, Savita Oil Technologies Ltd., Cemindia Project Ltd., and CONCOR – partnerships valued between ₹500 crore and ₹26,500 crore
During the week, JNPA led discussions on port digitalization, coastal connectivity, and global trade resilience, while the Maharashtra State Session, hosted by JNPA and graced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, unveiled the state’s three-pillar maritime growth roadmap — the Vadhvan Port project, sustainable infrastructure, and multimodal connectivity.
Adding to its global outreach, JNPA hosted delegations from the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Sweden, focusing on technology exchange, innovation, and sustainable port management.
JNPA’s performance was recognised with two prestigious awards — Indian Port of the Year and Port-led Development Award — reaffirming its leadership in India’s maritime sector.
Chairman Gaurav Dayal (IAS) stated, “India Maritime Week 2025 provided an excellent platform to highlight our strategic vision and partnerships that will accelerate the next phase of India’s maritime growth.”
Showcasing its upcoming landmark project ‘ShivDurg’, a 20-storey corporate office complex near Ferry Wharf and the Mumbai Port Authority’s Domestic Cruise Terminal, JNPA demonstrated its vision for modern infrastructure that aligns with India’s maritime ambitions.
With a dynamic presence at India Maritime Week 2025, JNPA reaffirmed its commitment to building a future-ready, globally competitive maritime ecosystem and driving India’s journey toward becoming a leading global maritime hub.
