Key Bureaucratic Appointments & Extensions Cleared by ACC

In a series of high-level administrative moves, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared multiple appointments and deputation extensions across ministries, marking a significant round of personnel decisions in the central government.
Sonali Mishra Appointed DG, RPF
Ms. Sonali Mishra, a 1993-batch IPS officer from Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Director General, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Railway Board. She will serve in Level-16 pay matrix till her superannuation on October 31, 2026, replacing Manoj Yadava, IPS (HY:1988), who completes his tenure on July 31, 2025.
Asif Jalal’s Deputation Extended in BSF
The ACC approved the extension of deputation tenure for Asif Jalal, IPS (HP:2002), serving as Inspector General, BSF. His tenure will now continue for two more years beyond September 23, 2025, in relaxation of the existing IPS Tenure Policy.
Anupam Mishra Gets One-Year Extension
SAnupam Mishra, IES (1995), currently Joint Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, has been granted a one-year extension of his central deputation beyond July 23, 2025, or until further orders.
Rohit Kumar Appointed Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog
Rohit Kumar, IAS (RJ:1997), presently Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed Additional Secretary in NITI Aayog. His central deputation has also been extended for one year beyond September 24, 2025.
Hekali Zhimomi Gets Additional Charge of NHA CEO
Ms. V. Hekali Zhimomi, IAS (UP:1996), Additional Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, has been assigned additional charge as Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority (NHA) for six months from May 22, 2025, or until the appointment of a regular CEO, whichever is earlier.
Chandrashekhar Nayaka Appointed OSD to Finance Minister
The ACC has also approved the appointment of Chandrashekhar Nayaka L, IAS (KN:2013), as Officer on Special Duty to Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. He will serve at Deputy Secretary level for four years or co-terminus with the Minister’s tenure.
These strategic postings aim to strengthen leadership continuity and policy implementation across key departments and ministries.
