The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the designation of Ajay Seth, IAS (KN:87), Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, as Finance Secretary.

Mannan Akhtar, IAS (UP:2011), has been appointed as Commissioner, Delhi Development Authority.

The committee has also approved the in-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:
– Ms. Arti Bhatnagar, IDAS (1990): Appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
– Ms. Trishaljit Sethi, IPoS (1990): Appointed as Director General (Training), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
– Sanjay Prasad, IRS (T:1990): Elevated as Special Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
– L. Satya Srinivas, IRS (C&IT:1991): Appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. He will continue to hold additional charge as Chief Executive Officer, Government e-Marketplace Special Purpose Vehicle, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, until a regular appointment is made.

Additionally, the following appointments have been made:
– S. Sharad Rao, Indian Ordnance Factory Service (2011): Redesignated as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Steel.
– K. V. Tirumala, Indian Trade Service (2009): Appointed as Director in the Department of Defence for a period of five years.
– Ms. Shilpi Chopda, Indian Revenue Service (IT:2015): Appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence for four years.
