New Delhi, May 26, 2025 — Madhur Agrawal, a 2009-batch officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs. The appointment, made under the Central Staffing Scheme, will be for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Agrawal was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Railways. He has been directed to be relieved of his current duties immediately, with instructions to report to the Ministry of Home Affairs and take up his new role without delay.

This appointment is in line with the government’s ongoing efforts to bring experienced civil servants into key roles across ministries to enhance governance and administrative efficiency.
