Madhya Pradesh Police Officers Receive President’s Medal for Distinguished Service

By Abul Hasan|THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|Several senior officers of Madhya Pradesh Police have been honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) on the occasion of Republic Day 2026, in recognition of their exemplary contribution to law enforcement and public service.
The awardees include Santosh Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Police; Mithelesh Kumar Shukla, Inspector General; Awadhesh Kumar Goswami, Deputy Inspector General; and Shiv Kumar Patel, Inspector. The honour reflects their long-standing dedication, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining law and order in the state.
The recognition is considered one of the highest service distinctions in policing and highlights Madhya Pradesh Police’s efforts in strengthening public safety and governance.
Madhya Pradesh Personnel Awarded Medal for Meritorious Service on Republic Day 2026
A total of 17 officers and personnel from Madhya Pradesh Police and one member from Home Guard and Civil Defence have been awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) on Republic Day 2026 for their outstanding performance and dedication to duty.
The awardees from Madhya Pradesh Police include Krishnaveni Desavatu, Inspector General; Manoj Kumar Rai, Gitesh Kumar Garg and Durgesh Kumar Rathore, Superintendents of Police; Praveen Singh, Rajendra Prasad Gupta, Nidhi Shrivastava, Shaffali Takalkar and Raju Gurane, Inspectors/ARMR; Sanjay Singh Thakur, Deputy Superintendent of Police; Shriram Mishra, Head Constable; Shushil Kumar Choubey and Ravindra Mishra, Constables; Prem Kishore Vyas and Umrao Prasad Jatav, Sub Inspectors; and Mahendra Singh Negi and Santosh Mehra, Assistant Sub Inspectors.
From Home Guard and Civil Defence, Narendra Awasthi, Lance Naik 35, has also been honoured with the MSM.
The awards recognise consistent dedication, integrity, and distinguished service rendered by police and civil defence personnel in safeguarding public order and assisting citizens. The honours also underline the state’s commitment to encouraging excellence and professionalism in uniformed services.
