‘Say No to Drugs – A Must’ Earns Spot in World Book of Records; DGP to be Honoured at British Parliament
Bhopal, August 1, 2025:
The Madhya Pradesh Police has made history with its state-wide public awareness campaign “Say No to Drugs – A Must”, conducted from July 15 to July 30, 2025, earning a prestigious entry in the World Book of Records. The campaign stood out for its unprecedented scale, impact, and public participation.
Spanning 57 districts and 1,175 police stations, the initiative directly involved approximately 23 lakh individuals, while reaching over 6.35 crore people through social media platforms—demonstrating the campaign’s widespread influence and community engagement.
In recognition of this extraordinary feat, Santosh Shukla, CEO and President of the World Book of Records, visited the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters on August 1 and formally presented the world record certificate to Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana and Additional Director General (Narcotics) K.P. Venkateshwar Rao. Present on the occasion were World Book of Records General Secretary Dr. Tithi Bhalla, Editor Ms. Apoorva Menon, and other dignitaries.
DGP Makwana, while receiving the honor, emphasized that the campaign was driven not by the aim of achieving records but by a deeper moral and administrative responsibilit to protect the youth and adolescents of the state from the menace of drug addiction.
“This was never about setting a world record. Our true mission was to motivate as many people as possible to stay away from drugs. The global recognition is a testament to the dedication of our officers, partner organizations, and the people of Madhya Pradesh,” said DGP Makwana.
Acknowledging the success of the campaign, Santosh Shukla praised the Madhya Pradesh Police for this impactful and unique awareness drive. He also extended an invitation to DGP Makwana to attend a special felicitation ceremony in the British Parliament on September 13, 2025, where the campaign’s success will be formally recognized on an international platform.
This recognition marks not only a proud moment for the Madhya Pradesh Police but also reflects a growing global acknowledgment of community-driven initiatives against substance abuse.
