Madhya Pradesh’s Best PSU Award for NHDC Limited

The state’s leading hydro power generation company NHDC Limited, which has illuminated Madhya Pradesh by continuous hydropower for over two decades, was awarded the Best PSU Award in the PSU category in the “Business Leader of Madhya Pradesh” program organized by Business Today Group.
The Managing Director of NHDC Limited, A.K. Mishra received the Best PSU Award in the PSU category in the “Business Leader of Madhya Pradesh” by the Chief Minister of the state Kamal Nath at the grand function held on 16 October 2019 at Jahanuma Palace Hotel, Bhopal.
For this award, eminent Professor Himanshu Rai, Director IIM, Indore, NSN Murthy, Partner and Leader Smart City PwC India, Radha Sharan Goswami, Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, were the juries who initially awarded 9 out of 1000 companies in the state. The categories were selected on quantitative and qualitative basis.
The Chief Guest at the function, Chief Minister Kamal Nath said in his keynote address that the government wants to lay the foundation for better investment for industries in the state and is committed to providing employment-generating industries limited as much as possible, making Chanhumukhi of the state Development can be ensured The Chief Minister informed about the efforts made by the government to make the state an industrial hub after the implementation of GST system. The opening address of the function was given by SR Mohanty, Chief Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
During this program, Minister of State PC Sharma, Arun Puri, Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary, Industries, Ashok Burnwal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director IIM Indore, Madhya Pradesh Government, R. Parasuram, Director General, Atal Bihari Institute and other distinguished dignitaries had a proud presence.
NHDC Limited, a joint venture between NHPC and Madhya Pradesh government, was established in 2000, is the largest hydro power generation company in the state. It has two projects in the state – Indira Sagar (1000 MW) and Omkareshwar (520 MW). NHDC Both the projects were completed before the scheduled time, which are playing an important role in the fulfillment of peak demand for power in the state. 100 percent power generated from these projects is given to Madhya Pradesh only.
