Maharashtra Govt Transfers 11 IPS Officers, Key Law & Order Appointments Announced

Mumbai, Feb 28 (PTI) – The Maharashtra government announced the transfer of 11 IPS officers on Friday, including ADG (Administration) Nikhil Gupta and ADG (Highway Police) Suresh Mekhla.

According to an order from the state home department, Gupta has been appointed as ADG (Law and Order), while Mekhla will now serve as ADG (Economic Offences Wing). Maharashtra Cyber’s Special Inspector General Yashasvi Yadav has been promoted to ADG while retaining his current post. Additionally, Suhas Warke, previously IGP (Protection of Civil Rights), has been elevated to ADG Prisons. Aswathi Dorje, who was IGP (Prevention of Atrocities against Women and Children), has also been promoted to ADG while continuing in the same role.

Chhering Dorje, formerly IGP (Law and Order), has been promoted to ADG (Special Operations). KMM Prasanna, who held the position of IGP (Establishment), has been promoted to ADG (Administration). Meanwhile, Manoj Kumar Sharma, who had been on Central deputation for the past five years, has been appointed as IGP (Law and Order).

Further transfers include R B Dahale, previously Director of the State Intelligence Academy, who has now been assigned as Special IGP at the Pune-based State Crime Records Centre. Ashok Morale, who served as IGP SRPF, has taken over as IGP of the Motor Transport Section in Pune.

Additionally, DIG (SRPF) Rajiv Jain has been promoted to IG while continuing in the same position. Abhishek Trimukhe has been appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region) in Mumbai, while Shrenik Lodha, formerly Additional SP in Aheri, Gadchiroli, has been transferred to Buldhana as Additional SP.
