Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Approves Upgradations and Tenure Extensions for Senior IAS Officers
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved key proposals from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) regarding the temporary upgradation of posts and extensions of upgraded tenure for senior IAS officers across central ministries and departments.
S Gopalakrishnan
The ACC has approved the extension in temporary upgradation of the post of Chairman, Staff Selection Commission, from the level of Additional Secretary to that of Secretary. The upgraded position is presently held by S Gopalakrishnan, IAS (TN:91), with the extended term granted up to October 31, 2027.
Ms. Neerja Sekhar
The ACC has approved the extension in temporary upgradation of the post of Director General, National Productivity Council, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, from Additional Secretary to Secretary rank. Held by Ms. Neerja Sekhar, IAS (HY:93), the upgraded term has been extended up to December 31, 2027.
Ms. Varsha Joshi
The ACC has approved the temporary upgradation and operation of a vacant post of Joint Secretary under the Central Staffing Scheme to the level of Additional Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying. Held by Ms. Varsha Joshi, IAS (AGMUT:95), the tenure is approved from 05.12.2026 to 26.07.2027.
Nitesh Kumar Vyas
The ACC has approved the extension in temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. This upgraded position is presently held by Nitesh Kumar Vyas, IAS (MP:96), for an extended term running up to November 7, 2027.
Ms. Aneeta C. Meshram
The ACC has approved the extension in temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in the President’s Secretariat. Held by Ms. Aneeta C. Meshram, IAS (UP:96), the upgraded position tenure has been extended for a term up to June 13, 2027.
Rahul Sharma
The ACC has approved the extension in temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. Held by Rahul Sharma, IAS (JH:98), the upgraded post operation has been extended for a further term up to October 26, 2027.
Ms. A Srija, IES (1996)
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ms. A Srija, IES (1996), as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat (SR) for five years from assumption of charge on or after November 15, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, through temporary downgrading of the post.
Ms. Mayusha A. M., Indian Information Service (2011)
Ms. Mayusha A. M., Indian Information Service (2011), has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme for five years from assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. She is to be relieved immediately to take up the assignment.
Karthikeyan K. P., IAS (TN:2014)
The competent authority has approved the appointment of Karthikeyan K. P., IAS (TN:2014), as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme for four years from assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is to be relieved immediately to join the new assignment.
