The wide-ranging transfers and appointments, notified by the General Administration Department on December 23, 2025, cover crucial portfolios including the Chief Minister’s Office, agriculture, education, finance, energy, health, rural development, and infrastructure
Sanjeev Kumar, IAS (1998)
Sanjeev Kumar has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, bringing his wide administrative experience to the centre of state governance. He will also hold additional charge of the Home Department, strengthening coordination in internal security and overall policy implementation across departments.
Vikrant Pandey, IAS
Vikrant Pandey’s position has been redesignated as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, reflecting enhanced responsibilities in the CMO. He will additionally oversee the Information and Broadcasting Department, ensuring effective government communication, outreach and media coordination at the state level.
Ajay Kumar, IAS (2006)
On repatriation to the state, Ajay Kumar has been appointed Secretary to the Chief Minister. Alongside this role, he will serve as Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Gujarat Maritime Board, contributing to port-led development and maritime infrastructure growth.

On repatriation to Gujarat, Lochan Sehra has been appointed Secretary, Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department. His role will focus on workforce skilling, employment generation and labour welfare initiatives.

Rajkumar Beniwal has been placed at the disposal of the Energy and Petrochemicals Department for appointment as Managing Director, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited, strengthening leadership in the fertiliser and chemicals sector.
