(GNFC), one of India’s leading industrial enterprises, has announced the appointment of Manoj Kumar Das, IAS, as its new Chairman and Director, effective November 1, 2025. Currently serving as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat, Das is a seasoned civil servant with an illustrious career spanning over three decades in public administration, policy formulation, and corporate governance.

Known for his visionary leadership and dynamic administrative capabilities, Das has been instrumental in driving several key initiatives contributing to Gujarat’s industrial growth and governance excellence. His appointment marks a significant step in reinforcing GNFC’s strategic direction toward innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness.

He succeeds Pankaj Joshi, IAS (Retd.), who led GNFC with distinction and contributed to its steady progress. The appointment, made by the Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat, is subject to requisite approvals from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors, and shareholders.

With Das at the helm, GNFC is poised to further strengthen its position as a frontrunner in India’s fertilizer and chemical sector, aligning with the state’s vision of industrial advancement and sustainable development.
