MEA Invites Applications for Director General Post at RIS

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued an advertisement inviting applications for the post of Director General at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), a premier policy research institution. The appointment will be made through direct recruitment from a panel recommended by a Search-cum-Selection Committee constituted by the MEA under RIS Bye-Laws.

The Director General will serve a five-year term and function as the Principal Executive Officer of RIS, responsible for exercising powers and duties delegated by the Chairman of the Governing Council.

To be eligible, candidates must possess a second-class postgraduate degree (minimum 55% marks) and a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, along with at least 15 years of research and teaching experience in economics or related fields. A minimum of five years should have been served at the level of professor in a reputed institution or university. An excellent academic record and distinguished research publications are mandatory.

The position carries the pay scale equivalent to Level 16 in the Government of India. Applicants must not exceed 62 years of age as of the last date of application submission.
