In a significant step towards building a healthier and more responsible society, the Madhya Pradesh Police has launched a noble and much-needed initiative aimed at raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and addiction. Titled “Nashe Se Doori – Hai Zaroori”, the campaign is being conducted across the entire state from July 15 to July 30, 2025.
This people-centric initiative seeks to inform and educate teenagers, youth, and citizens from all walks of life about the severe personal and social consequences of drug consumption. By encouraging individuals to stay away from addictive substances, the campaign aims to foster a clean, strong, and positive social environment for all.
At the heart of this statewide effort is Director General of Police, Kailash Makwana, whose commitment and restless efforts have played a pivotal role in shaping the direction and outreach of the campaign. Known for his progressive approach to community policing and public engagement, DGP Makwana has consistently worked to make policing in Madhya Pradesh more effective, transparent, and people-friendly.
During a press conference held at Police Headquarters in Bhopal on July 15, DGP Makwana addressed the media and shared detailed insights about the campaign’s objectives and strategies. He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in curbing drug abuse and appealed to citizens, community leaders, educational institutions, and youth groups to actively participate in spreading the message to even the remotest corners of the state.
> “This campaign is not just a police effort. It is a movement for social transformation,” DGP Makwana stated, calling upon all segments of society to join hands in protecting future generations from the dangers of addiction.
The campaign involves awareness drives in schools, colleges, public spaces, and through digital platforms. It also includes community outreach programs, street plays, informative sessions, and collaborations with NGOs, educators, and health professionals.
The Madhya Pradesh Police’s proactive stance and compassionate approach reflect a deeper commitment to citizen welfare beyond traditional law enforcement. Under the leadership of DGP Kailash Makwana, this campaign reaffirms the evolving role of the police as protectors, guides, and partners in social reform.
As the campaign progresses, it is expected to inspire similar initiatives across other states and contribute meaningfully to the larger vision of a drug-free Bharat.
“Nasha Mukt Samaj, Swasth Bharat” – a goal that the Madhya Pradesh Police is bringing closer to reality, one step at a time.
