Mrs. Soma Mondal has been selected for the post of Maiden Women Chairperson of
State-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL).
Mrs. Soma Mondal was selected today in an interview meeting held in Public Enterprises Selection Board wherein about half a dozen candidates appeared. Mrs. Soma Mondal is presently serving as Director (Commercial) of SAIL. Prior to this, Mondal was Director (Commercial) at NALCO, Bhubaneswar. During her tenure in NALCO she had been instrumental in devising marketing strategies of different products for NALCO in both domestic and overseas markets, and had also been actively involved in launch of various new products.

Mrs.Mondal is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
