New Delhi, 29th March 2025: The Government of India has appointed Ms. Nidhi Tewari, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 2014 batch, as the new Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment, effective immediately.

Currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ms. Tewari’s new role will be at the Level 12 of the pay matrix. The appointment will be on a co-terminus basis or until further orders, whichever comes first.
