New Delhi, 03 Nov, 2015:National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited of which Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal is CMD, a blue-chip Government of India Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), hasdone away with ‘interview’ system in its selection process for the posts of ‘B’ and ‘C’categories of employees in the company. The initiative comes into effect with its policy decision to dispense with interviews for the posts of Junior Engineers, Draftsman, Executives, Office Assistants, Stenographers and Translators. It may be mentioned that NBCC is probably the first public sector enterprise to adopt this change in line with Govt’s advice to discontinue the
practice of interviews for junior-level recruitmentwhile delivering hisIndependence Day speech, 2015.Elaborating upon this forthright decision, Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD, NBCC said, “This is a positive stand that the company has taken after many discussions with various authorities and gauging the viability of the change. We have always believed in nurturing the best talent in the industry and we will ensure that all hindrances in this process are removed and the deserving candidates are given a chance. We applause the thought of our respectable prime minister and have duly aligned ourselves to this change. Many people compete for government
jobs and in the process there are corruption happening in the selection of candidates for the posts. So let the selection criteria and procedure used, be transparent”.
