NBCC wins two 5-Star GRIHA Awards for sustainable infrastructure

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, has been honoured with two prestigious 5-Star GRIHA Awards at the 17th GRIHA Summit held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The recognition was conferred for NBCC’s landmark projects – Vanijya Bhawan and Kaushal Bhawan, which have been awarded the 5-Star GRIHA ratings for their exemplary adherence to sustainable and energy-efficient construction standards. The awards, presented in the form of shields, were received by K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director, NBCC (India) Ltd., from Srinivas Katikithala, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
During the event, NBCC was also felicitated for its continued collaboration with GRIHA Council. Expressing gratitude, K. P. Mahadevaswamy appreciated GRIHA’s efforts in promoting sustainability within India’s built environment and reiterated NBCC’s commitment to environmentally responsible development.
NBCC’s long-standing association with GRIHA is evident in several of its major projects including the redevelopment of East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi; AIIMS campuses at Nagpur and Kalyani executed through its subsidiary HSCC; and the Vigyan Bhawan Annexe Extension, New Delhi—all of which have also been awarded GRIHA 5-Star ratings. Notably, the Integrated Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) at Bharat Mandapam, the venue for the G20 Summit 2023, stands as a hallmark of NBCC’s excellence in sustainable infrastructure development.
