NHDC celebrated 9th International Yoga Day

On the occasion of 9th International Yoga Day, NHDC Limited celebrated Yoga Day with zeal and enthusiasm. The Yoga session was graced by V.K. Sinha, Managing Director, NHDC along with the participation of all senior officers and employees. During the session, many useful information about yoga and its effects on health as well as various yogasanas were practiced among participants under the supervision of yoga experts.
The Yogacharyas shared the importance of Yoga for the health fitness of individuals there by making society healthy. It was also shared that Yoga helps in reducing stress in daily life, overcoming negative thoughts and leading a healthy and positive approach towards life. Yogacharyas practised various yogasanas, pranayama & mudras and informed about their benefits during this yoga session.In addition to yoga practice session, V.K. Sinha, Managing Director administered yoga pledge to all the participants and appealed to follow yoga for leading a better life. Shri Sinha also emphasized on practising yoga on regular basis to reduce or overcome health problems like neck, shoulder and spine stiffness, respiratory diseases and mental problems that can be prevented. The program ended with the National Anthem.At present, NHDC’s two power stations – Indira Sagar Power Station (1000 MW) and Omkareshwar Power Station (520 MW) are in operation in Khandwa district of the state. 100 percent power produced from these power stations is supplied to Madhya Pradesh. NHDC is determined to make the state a green state by producing green energy with construction of solar power projects under new and renewable energy, under which 8 MW solar project in the historic city of Sanchi and 88 MW floating solar project on Omkareshwar reservoir are under construction. Recently, the Department of New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh has allotted NHDC to build 525 MW pumped storage power project on existing reservoir of Indira Sagar & Omkareshwar Dam.
