NHDC Chairman A. K. Singh Meets Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of M.P.

On September 5, 2020, NHDC Chairman Abhay Kumar Singh meets Chief Minister of the State Shivraj Singh Chauhan in which he gave the information about the hydropower generation activities by NHDC in the State and discussed about the future plans for more power generation in the State.
Chief Minister appreciated the work done by NHDC in the State and assured positive cooperation on the proposal of more power generation in future.

Earlier, the Chairman visited the Corporate Headquarters, Bhopal. On this occasion, the Chairman, NHDC was welcomed by the Managing Director of the Corporation, Arun Kumar Mishra and all the senior officers. During this visit, A. K. Singh presided over the meeting of the Board of Directors of NHDC and the Annual General Meeting. Other dignitaries of NHDC Board of Directors were also present at the Board Meeting. On this occasion, the Chairman planted saplings in the Head Quarters premises and then addressed the officers posted at Corporate Office. The Chairman said that hydropower generation has always been a challenging task and we have always turned challenges into opportunities and there is a need to be prepared for more big challenges in future.

NHDC generated 4110 million units of electricity during the financial year 2019-20 which is 37% more than the MoU target and earned a net profit of Rs. 920 crore in the financial year 2019–20. In addition, the corporation has given an interim dividend of Rs. 555 crores to the shareholders.

NHDC Limited is the state’s leading hydropower generating company, which is a joint venture of NHPC Limited and Government of Madhya Pradesh. The Company was established in the year 2000. At present two power stations of NHDC Limited are Indira Sagar Power Station (1000 MW) and Omkareshwar Power (520 MW) are operational in Khandwa district of the state and 100% power produced from the Power Stations is supplied to the State of Madhya Pradesh.
