NHPC Celebrates 77th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour and Renewed Commitment to Nation-Building

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|NHPC marked the 77th Republic Day of India with pride and patriotic enthusiasm on 26 January 2026 at its residential complex in Faridabad. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, followed by the collective singing of the National Anthem and Vande Mataram, setting a solemn and inspiring tone for the occasion.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Director (Finance), senior officials, employees, and their family members. Republic Day was also celebrated with equal zeal across all NHPC project sites and offices throughout the country, reflecting the organisation’s strong national footprint and unity of purpose.
Addressing the NHPC family, the Chairman and Managing Director extended Republic Day greetings and highlighted NHPC’s vital role in strengthening India’s energy security through clean, green, and renewable energy. He reaffirmed the organisation’s unwavering commitment to constitutional values and nation-building. Paying tribute to the freedom fighters, the armed forces, and the architects of the Constitution under the leadership of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, he acknowledged their enduring legacy in shaping modern India.
He noted that NHPC contributes nearly 17 percent of the country’s hydropower capacity and is executing more than half of India’s under-construction hydropower projects. With a total installed capacity of 8,582.90 MW from hydropower, solar, and wind energy, NHPC continues to play a transformative role in promoting regional development, particularly in remote and border areas of the country.
Commending the dedication and resilience of NHPC personnel working in challenging terrains and difficult climatic conditions, he reiterated the organisation’s commitment to transparency, quality, safety, sustainability, and timely project execution. These efforts, he said, are aligned with the Panchamrit goals and the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The celebrations were further enriched by a vibrant cultural programme presented by the NHPC family and the Team Revolution Group. The programme was live webcast to all NHPC locations nationwide, fostering a shared spirit of patriotism and togetherness across the organisation.
The Republic Day celebration once again underscored NHPC’s resolve to contribute meaningfully to India’s sustainable development journey while upholding the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.
