NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and AECOM India Pvt. Ltd., has signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) to develop the Economic Plans for the Indore Economic Region and Bhopal Economic Region under the “Developing City Regions as Growth Hubs” initiative. The signing ceremony was attended by Anurag Jain, Chief Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, along with other senior state officials.

The SoI lays the foundation for joint efforts in formulating a comprehensive economic roadmap encompassing infrastructure, industry, investment, innovation, and sustainable urban growth. The initiative seeks to promote evidence-based policymaking, attract high-value investments, create employment opportunities, and enhance the competitiveness of regions in line with long-term development objectives.

The State Government held the kick-off meeting on the G-Hub initiative. During the meeting, Ms. Anna Roy, Principal Economic Adviser, NITI Aayog, elaborated on the G-Hub concept and framework. Anurag Jain shared valuable insights on both economic regions, while the District Collectors presented brief overviews of their respective districts.

This partnership will help establish a clear roadmap for economic growth, attract investments, and foster sustainable urban development across both the Indore and Bhopal Economic Regions.
