NLC India Limited paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhiji, the father of our Nation, on his 154th birth anniversary. The celebrations at Neyveli started off with the garlanding of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue by Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, at the Township Administration office premises in the presence of Suresh Chandra Suman, Director/Mines, Samir Swarup, Director/HR, and Venkatachalam, Director/Power, NLCIL. Gandhiji’s favourite song “Ramdhun” was recited by the members of the Neyveli Ladies Club. During the occasion,fifty “Safai Mithra” of NLCIL was honoured as token of appreciation of health worriers by CMD and FDs.Also a “Swatchhta Hi Seva” and “No to plastic” rally was flagged off by the CMD, led by Jawahar Science College students. As a part celebration, a function was organized at the Learning & Development Centre started with ‘Vaishnava Janatho’ song recited by the members of Neyveli Ladies Club followed by reading of scriptures by various organizations: Ramakrishna Seva Sangam, Indian Christian Cultural Association, Neyveli Muslim Jamaath and Neyveli Schools. During the occasion, a colour ful cultural programme was staged by Ladies Club, Telugu Kala Samithi, Neyveli Schools, Neyveli Kerala Kala Samithi, Neyveli Kannada Sangha, Bharatiya Kala Samithi, WIPS and Sneha Opportunity Schools Neyveli. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, addressing the gathering paid respect and rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhiji. He said Gandhi Jayanthi is being celebrate as ‘International Day of Non Violence’ as the path of truth & Non Violence followed by the principals of Mahatma Gandhi. The requirement today to the developed countries in the world is cleanliness is more than any talents and advancements. He remembered Gandhiji recognized cleanliness is more important than Independence and also Mahatma as most influenced leader in the world, without any official position, power of money left his teaching as a lasting legacy and No one believes that, such a person with fresh & blood walked upon the earth. He lauded the top management institutions, considers Mahatma Gandhi as, best management Guru, with innovative concepts like Non Violence, Salt Satyagraha. “Raghupati Raja or Raja Ram” united the entire nation without any differentiation in caste religion, creed, wealth, gender to face mighty British. The CMD appreciated Neyvelians, who take lead in Swachhata and became number one in our country. He reiterated to maintain the acronym Neyvelian Love Cleanliness -(NLC), it’s should be relevant to all activities. He praised Neyvelians actively participated in “Swachhta Hi Seva”, with more than 3000 massive force which shows the commitment & the determination of principal of Gandhiji. On the occasion, the president of Neyveli Ladies Club along with the patrons presented kits comprising of Bags & Stationery items and sweets to children of NLCIL run elementary Schools. The event was attended by executives, employees, Representatives of Associations and Unions, students & general public. The celebrations ended with Community worship was also arranged at the Villuduyanpattu Murugan Temple, Neyveli, where Prasadam was distributed to all.
