NTPC IPS 2026 conference begins in Raipur, focuses on operational excellence and energy security

THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| The annual Indian Power Stations Operations and Maintenance Conference (IPS 2026), hosted by NTPC, commenced in Raipur with the inauguration by Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), Government of India, in the presence of senior representatives from the Ministry of Power, Government of Chhattisgarh, Central Electricity Authority, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, NTPC and various generation companies.
The three-day conference aims to promote best practices in operations and maintenance across power stations, emphasising improved efficiency, reliability and sustainability in electricity generation. The event also commemorates the synchronisation of the first generating unit of NTPC at Singrauli, a landmark moment in India’s large-scale thermal power development.
NTPC CMD Gurdeep Singh highlighted the importance of continuous innovation, operational excellence and knowledge sharing in ensuring reliable power supply and supporting the country’s growing energy needs. The conference brings together policymakers, utilities and industry experts to deliberate on technological advancements, asset optimisation and strategies for strengthening India’s long-term energy security.
The inaugural session also witnessed the presentation of the NTPC Swarn Shakti Awards and NTPC Business Excellence Awards, along with Performance Excellence Awards recognising outstanding achievements by State generation companies for operational performance and efficiency.
