In view of Country’s focus on Renewable Energy in future, Pumped Storage Development is a priority of Government of India. WAPCOS Limited is in the forefront of this Technology, For capacity building, NTPC Limited had organised a four days workshop on Pumped Storage Development in association with WAPCOS Limited & WBSEDC Ltd. A high level site visit to Purulia PSP, 900 MW was undertaken by R.K.Agrawal, CMD WAPCOS Limited alongwith S. Sursesh Kumar, Addl.Chief Secretary (Power), GoWB, R.K.Vishnoi, CMD THDC, U.K.Bhattacharya, Director Projects, NTPC limited., S. Debsarma Biswas, Director (Generation), WBSEDCL, Several senior officials from NTPC Limited THDC ,GoWB and WAPCOS Limited were also present. The technical support to all the participants during the training by WAPCOS was appreciated by NTPC. The visit was followed by a brainstorming interactive session at the Purulia Power House.
