New Delhi: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC), India’s premier Maharatna energy PSU, has reported a stellar financial and operational performance for the financial year 2024-25, reaffirming its position as the backbone of India’s energy security.

For FY’25, ONGC posted a strong standalone net profit of Rs 35,610 crore, showcasing its resilience and operational excellence in a dynamic global energy landscape. In a remarkable move that underscores its commitment to shareholder value, ONGC declared a final dividend of 25%, taking its total dividend for the year to an all-time high of Rs 15,411 crore.

Operationally, the company has recorded impressive milestones. Crude oil production increased by 0.9%, a significant uptick that reflects ONGC’s consistent focus on exploration, innovation, and efficiency. The total capital expenditure for the year stood at a massive Rs 62,000 crore, highlighting the Maharatna’s aggressive investment strategy to augment domestic production and enhance energy independence.

A standout achievement in FY’25 has been the drilling of 578 wells — the highest number in the past 35 years — reaffirming ONGC’s deep-rooted exploration capabilities and commitment to boosting India’s hydrocarbon output. Furthermore, the company ramped up its exploration capex to Rs 10,300 crore, a 25% increase over the previous fiscal, reflecting its growing focus on discovering new reserves.

Adding to its exploration success, ONGC made nine discoveries in FY’25, of which eight have already been monetized, signaling a swift conversion of potential into production. In Q4 alone, ONGC reported crude oil production of 4.700 million metric tonnes (MMT).
