PM dedicates HURL SINDRI plant to the nation

The recently revived Sindri Fertilizer Unit of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, marking a significant milestone six years after the foundation was laid.
Key dignitaries at the event included Governor CP Radhakrishnan Jharkhand, Chief Minister Champai Soren, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, leader of opposition Amar Bouri, BJP state president Babulal Marandi, and MP PN Singh and Dr. S.P. Mohanty CMD,(HURL) were present at this occasion.
HURL, a collaboration of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) such as NTPC, IOCL, CIL, and FCIL/HFCL, was incorporated on June 15, 2016. The Sindri Plant commenced urea production on November 5, 2022, with the official inauguration taking place today.
The new Ammonia-Urea Plants at Sindri boast a capacity of 2200 TPD Ammonia and 3850 TPD neem-coated urea, established at a cost of Rs. 8939.25 Crore, with equity participation of 29.67% each by NTPC, IOCL, and CIL, and 11% by FCIL.
