The Prime Minister, Narendra Damodardas Modi dedicated Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Plant, BARC campus, Visakhapatnam to the nation on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the “National Technology Day” on 11th May 2023. Integrated facility for producing Rare Earth Metal, Alloy and Magnet on industrial scale has been set up by IREL (India) Limited based on laboratory scale process developed by BARC and DMRL. M/s. Mecon carried out the engineering of the project while infrastructure assistance was provided by M/s. EPIL. The plant will produce Rare Earth Permanent Magnets and envisions making India Atma Nirbhar in the strategic sectors of Atomic Energy, Defense and Space. D. Singh, CMD, IREL on the occasion expressed that IREL will continue to serve the nation with the same devotion and innovation.
