PM Modi inaugurates DefExpo 2022

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘DefExpo 2022’ in Gandhinagar on 19 October. With an aim to give impetus to the defence sector, India’s “biggest ever” defence exhibition – DefExpo 2022 is being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

This is the 12th edition of the event that has been organised on the theme ‘Path to Pride’.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi unveiled HTT-40 the indigenous trainer aircraft designed and developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at the India Pavilion during DefExpo-2020. Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Defence and Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat were present on the occasion. The aircraft has state-of-the-art contemporary systems and has been designed with pilot-friendly features.

BDL and Dassault Aviation Pvt Ltd entered into MoU for integration of BDL Weapon Systems like Astra & SAAW on Rafale Aircraft for Indian Armed Forces.The MoU will also open avenues for export to friendly countries.

Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. B. S. Raju, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, VSM visited the BEML Stall at the ongoing DEFEXPO 2022 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He showed keen interest about the displayed products and aggregates at BEML stall.

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with Munitions India Limited (MIL), a Defence PSU, to jointly address the requirements of Indian Defence and Export markets in the areas of Ammunition, Explosives and related systems. Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), BEL, and S K Rout, Director (Operations), MIL, exchanged the MoU documents at Defexpo today in the presence of Ravi Kant, CMD, MIL, Joydeep Majumder, Executive Director, BEL and other senior officers of BEL and MIL.
