PM Modi Lays Foundation for POWERGRID’s Mega Renewable Energy Transmission Projects in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three major transmission projects at Mahi Banswara, Rajasthan, marking a significant stride in India’s renewable energy infrastructure. The projects include: (i) Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-2: 5.5 GW) via POWERGRID Beawar-Mandsaur Transmission Limited, (ii) Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-V (Part-1: 4 GW) by POWERGRID Sirohi Khandwa Transmission Limited, and (iii) Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-3: 6 GW) through POWERGRID Bikaner IV Transmission Limited.
Together, with an investment of Rs. 13,200 crores, these projects will establish over 2,300 circuit km of transmission lines and significantly enhance power evacuation and transformation capacity in the region. POWERGRID reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Government of India’s ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based electricity capacity by 2030.
These initiatives underscore the nation’s drive towards clean energy and robust power infrastructure, truly “transmitting power, transforming lives.”
