PM Warns of ‘cybersecurity threats’ during DG/IG Conference

During the concluding session of all India Conference of Director Generals/ Inspector Generals of Police 2024 being held from 30th November to 1st December, 2024 at State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi brainstormed over the serious concern about cybersecurity threats, with a specific focus on the dangers posed by AI-driven deepfake technology. PM on X said: Extensive deliberations continued on the second day of the DGP/IGP Conference in Bhubaneswar. Key discussions on national security challenges, urban policing and new-age threats like cybercrime and AI misuse featured prominently through the conference, Also addressed the meeting today. Talked about the importance of SMART policing, leveraging Artificial Intelligence and modernising our forces to make them future-ready.
PM Modi addressed senior police officials and emphasized the urgent need for innovative solutions. He urged the use of both Artificial Intelligence and the concept of ‘Aspirational India’ to tackle these emerging threats.
