By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| New Delhi may soon witness a significant administrative transition with the Prime Minister’s Office preparing to function from a newly built, state-of-the-art complex at Seva Teerth, marking a fresh chapter in the governance infrastructure of the country.

According to indications from media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to begin working from the Seva Teerth Executive Enclave soon, coinciding with Makar Sankranti. The move would bring the PMO out of South Block, its home since Independence, into a modern, purpose-built facility designed to house key decision-making institutions.

Located on Dara Shikoh Road in the heart of the Capital, the Seva Teerth complex is a core component of the Central Vista redevelopment initiative. The Cabinet Secretariat has already started functioning from the new enclave since September 2025, while the National Security Council Secretariat is likely to relocate shortly, ahead of the Prime Minister’s transition.

Each of the three institutions—the PMO, Cabinet Secretariat and NSCS—has been provided a dedicated building within the Executive Enclave. Alongside this, construction is underway on Executive Enclave Part-2, which will serve as a new official residence for the Prime Minister.

Designed on the lines of contemporary government workspaces such as Kartavya Bhavan, the PMO building is expected to offer modern office environments with advanced facilities. At the same time, select areas including the Prime Minister’s office and ceremonial rooms meant for high-level engagements will reflect enhanced architectural detailing suited to their significance.

The project has been executed by Larsen and Toubro for the Central Public Works Department, following the award of the contract in 2022. Once fully operational, Seva Teerth is set to emerge as a new administrative nucleus, symbolising efficiency, modernity and continuity in governance.
