The President of India laid the foundation stone of two flagship CSR initiatives of NTPC Limited at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, on 4th February 2026. These include a 1000-seater Assembly Hall-cum-Cultural Centre and the establishment of an Archery Centre at Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj.

The Assembly Hall-cum-Cultural Centre, to be developed on about 3.3 acres, will serve as a multi-purpose facility for cultural events, public gatherings, academic and skill development activities. It will also function as a disaster management centre during emergencies, thereby promoting and preserving the region’s rich tribal heritage.

The Archery Centre at Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district, will be equipped with training infrastructure, sports equipment, archery ranges, and residential facilities to nurture local talent across all age groups and skill levels.

NTPC has committed to supporting the Government of Odisha in establishing such Archery Academies/Centres in three districts, including Mayurbhanj, to promote the grassroots development of archery.

These initiatives reflect NTPC’s continued commitment to inclusive social development, community empowerment, and the promotion of sports and culture.
