April 5, 2025 – In a significant step to support India’s defence personnel and their families, Punjab & Sind Bank has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Defence. This partnership reaffirms the bank’s commitment to serving the needs of Defence Pensioners across the country.

As part of this initiative, the bank will establish 60 web-based SPARSH (System for Pension Administration Raksha) Service Centres across India. These centres aim to provide seamless, last-mile connectivity, ensuring that Defence Pensioners can access crucial pension-related services with ease and efficiency.

The SPARSH Service Centres will offer a range of services, including pension disbursement, updating pension records, and resolving any issues related to pension accounts. This network of service centres will empower pensioners with greater convenience, reducing the need for them to travel long distances to access these services.

The MoU is a major step towards enhancing the overall pension service delivery system for Defence personnel, ensuring they receive timely and accurate assistance. By leveraging modern technology and the bank’s widespread presence, the partnership aims to improve accessibility, streamline processes, and uphold the dignity of Defence Pensioners.

Through this collaboration, Punjab & Sind Bank not only strengthens its relationship with the Ministry of Defence but also underscores its ongoing commitment to supporting those who have served the nation.

The establishment of these service centres will start shortly and is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of thousands of Defence Pensioners across India.
