RailTel reaffirming its robust position in Telecom & ICT, bags 7 Awards in 2021

RailTel a Miniratna PSU of Central Government under Ministry of Railways has been continuing the tempo of good performance and has bagged seven awards in the Calendar Year 2021. The areas of awards include Telecommunication & Information Technology, Digital Technology, Data Centre, Digital PSU, Digital Security & Document Management.

The seven awards are as given below: –

 Puneet Chawla, CMD, RailTel was honoured with the “CMD Leadership Award” at the 8th PSU award ceremony 2021 organised by “Governance Now” magazine.

 RailTel won Dun & Bradstreet PSU Awards 2021 in Telecommunication & Information Technology Sector category.

 RailTel won Digital PSU Summit Awards 2021, by Express Computer (Indian Express Group), in Document Management category.

 RailTel won Digital PSU Summit Awards 2021, by Express Computer (Indian Express Group), in Enterprise Security Category.

 RailTel won the Express Computer Digital Technology Sabha Excellence Award 2021 under Data Centre category for its Tier-Iii Data Centers accredited by UPTIME USA at Gurugram and Secunderabad.

 RailTel bagged the Governance Now PSU Awards in ‘Digital PSU’ and ‘Digital Security’ categories.

 RailTel’s Southern Region establishment won Digital Technology Sabha Excellence Award, by Express Computer (Indian Express Group), in IoT Category.

Despite Covid pandemic, RailTel managed to make rapid growth and recorded its highest ever consolidated income in FY 20-21 of Rs.1411 Crore, a growth of 21% and achieving a CAGR growth of 16.6% over the past 3 years. The company declared an Interim Dividend at the rate of 17.5% of paid-up share capital (Rs. 1.75 /- per share) for the FY 2021-22.

Not only has the revenue increased, the order book of RailTel also seen a quantum jump despite weak market conditions. RailTel currently has a healthy order book of around Rs. 5300 out of which more than 50% was received in 2021.

RailTel, a Miniratna PSU under Ministry of Railways, commenced its journey in 2000 as a Signalling and Telecom arm of the National Transporter i.e. Indian Railways. RailTel has, by way of expansion, diversification & upgradation, has now emerged as an ICT provider and one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the country owning a Pan-India optic fiber network of 60000+RKM (and growing) along Railway track. The OFC network covers important towns & cities of the country and several rural areas.

RailTel also has 18000+ KM City Access network, of around 9300+ Point Presence 1050+ telecom towers, two Tier-III certified Data Centres, MeitY empaneled RailCloud, specialized Security Operation Centre. What makes this network one of the most secure one is the absence of any equipment from neighboring countries sharing land border with India.

RailTel, with the help of its robust infrastructure, provides a host of telecommunication services like Internet Bandwidth, Leased lines, MPLS VPN, Tower Co-location, dark fiber leasing, retail broadband–RailWire, HD Video Conferencing, e-tendering and many more.

Besides Railways, RailTel is also serving various other sectors like Coal, Defense, banking, health, education sectors, the company aims to further grow the business from these critical sectors.
