Amid the recent train accidents Railways Board Chairman A.K.Mital has reportedly resigned from his. he was appointed was appointed on 31st December 2014 and his tenure was to end in 2018. Prior to this appointment, A.K.Mital was Member Staff, Railway Board and ex-officio Secretary to the Government of India. Earlier, he served as General Manager of South Western Railway-SWR (Headquarters Hubli)
