Rajasthan Pushes Reform Agenda Through Key Delhi Talks

Srinivas, a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, held a series of high-level meetings with senior Government of India officials during his visit to New Delhi, reinforcing Rajasthan’s commitment to stronger Centre-State coordination and the effective implementation of key development initiatives.
The visit focused on infrastructure, fiscal management, tax administration, expenditure reforms and governance, reflecting the state’s proactive approach to policy coordination with the Union Government.
In his meeting with Prime Minister’s Advisor Tarun Kapoor, Srinivas briefed him on the upcoming dedication of the HRRL refinery and discussed the roadmap for the project going forward. The refinery is expected to play a significant role in strengthening Rajasthan’s energy infrastructure, boosting industrial growth and creating employment opportunities.
Srinivas also met Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh at Kartavya Bhavan. The discussions centred on issues of mutual interest and further strengthening coordination between the Government of Rajasthan and the Ministry of Defence.
During his meeting with Revenue Secretary Arvind Srivastava, the Chief Secretary discussed Goods and Services Tax (GST)-related issues, including GST data analysis and measures to strengthen revenue administration through better use of data and analytics.
Fiscal management and implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) were the focus of his discussions with Expenditure Secretary Vualnam Vumlunmang. The meeting reviewed the timely issuance of major sanctions and assessed the progress of CSS expenditure in Rajasthan, with an emphasis on ensuring faster implementation of development programmes and efficient utilisation of public funds.
In another key meeting at Sewa Teerth, Srinivas met Coordination Secretary Dr. Manoj Govil to review the progress of Deregulation and Compliance Reduction Phase II. The review highlighted Rajasthan’s strong performance in reducing regulatory burdens and simplifying compliance procedures. The Chief Secretary expressed satisfaction that Rajasthan has emerged as one of the country’s top-performing states in the implementation of governance reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business and citizen-centric administration.
The series of meetings underscored Rajasthan’s focus on collaborative governance, policy reforms and efficient execution of development priorities through close engagement with the Government of India. The outcomes of these consultations are expected to further strengthen institutional coordination, accelerate key projects and reinforce Rajasthan’s position as a leader in administrative reforms and good governance.
