Ajeet Kumar Agarwal is the Chairman and Managing Director of REC limited. on the Board of REC w.e.f. March 6, 2019 and also Director (Finance), REC since August 1, 2012. A Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. A K Agarwal has over 3.5 decades experience in Public Sector Undertakings. He is accountable to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the effective functioning of the Company in pursuit of its mission, goals and objectives. As Director (Finance), he provides directions with respect to Financial Management and Operations of the organization encompassing organizational and financial planning, formulation of financial policy, financial accounting, management control systems, cash and funds management, tax planning, mobilization and management of resources, liaison with financial institutions and capital market players. He also supervises treasury functions, lending operations and advises on corporate risk management matters.

He is Nominee Director on the Board of two wholly owned subsidiary companies of REC i.e. REC Transmission Projects Company Limited & REC Power Distribution Company Limited. He is also Nominee Director on the Board of Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX), a listed Company.
