By THENEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM: The Telangana Government has chosen senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju as the State’s next Chief Secretary, marking a significant transition in the administrative leadership. A 1992-batch officer, Jaju will assume the state’s top bureaucratic position following the retirement of incumbent Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on June 30.
Recently returning to the State cadre after an extended tenure with the Government of India, Jaju brings extensive experience in public administration, policy formulation, and governance. Alongside his appointment as Chief Secretary, he has also been entrusted with additional responsibilities relating to Industries & Commerce, the Industry and Investment Cell, and the SPEED initiative.
His selection comes amid a field of senior officers of the same batch and is seen as a move aimed at ensuring administrative continuity over the coming years. One of the key factors working in his favour is his remaining service tenure, which extends until February 2029. This would enable him to provide long-term leadership to the bureaucracy through the current government’s term and into the period of the next Assembly elections.
Jaju’s appointment signals the government’s emphasis on stable governance, investment promotion, and effective policy implementation as Telangana continues its focus on economic growth and infrastructure development.
