(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) In a move to enhance investor participation and corporate governance, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), in collaboration with key market infrastructure institutions, launched the Proxy Advisory Recommendations Feature on the e-Voting system integrated within the Investor App. The launch event was held today at the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) headquarters.
The event was graced by Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairman of SEBI; Ashish Chauhan, MD & CEO of NSE; Kamlesh Chandra Varshney, Whole Time Member (WTM), SEBI; Jeevan Sonparote, Executive Director, SEBI; Vijay Chandok, MD & CEO of NSDL; and Nehal Vora, MD & CEO of CDSL. Their presence signified a collective commitment to empowering investors through technology and transparency.
The new feature allows investors to view recommendations from SEBI-registered proxy advisory firms directly on the e-Voting platform. This integration, powered by NSDL and CDSL, enables shareholders to make informed decisions on resolutions proposed by listed companies.
SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey said the initiative represents a key step in democratizing corporate decision-making. Ashish Chauhan, MD & CEO of NSE, noted that the platform bridges a vital gap in investor services by providing timely and reliable insights.
This initiative is expected to boost voter participation in corporate resolutions, promote investor awareness, and strengthen the overall governance framework in India’s capital markets.
