SECL Promotes Workplace Wellness Through Yoga Initiatives Ahead of International Day of Yoga 2026

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| Bilaspur: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has intensified its celebrations leading up to the International Day of Yoga 2026 by organizing a series of engaging yoga-based activities aimed at promoting health, wellness and holistic well-being among employees. As part of the ongoing SECL Yoga Mahotsav 2026, the company conducted a “Yoga at Workplace” programme on June 17 and a unique “Yoga Chit Challenge” on June 18 at its headquarters in Bilaspur.
The “Yoga at Workplace” programme was held at the CMD Auditorium, bringing together senior officials, departmental heads, officers and employees. The event focused on this year’s International Day of Yoga theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” encouraging participants to embrace yoga and pranayama as part of their daily routine. The session was attended by Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan, Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das and Chief Vigilance Officer Himanshu Jain.
The yoga session was conducted by Pritpal Singh Gumber, Senior Yoga Instructor from The Art of Living, who guided participants through various yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques. He highlighted the role of yoga in improving physical fitness, reducing stress, enhancing concentration and fostering a positive outlook towards life.
Continuing the momentum, SECL organized the innovative “Yoga Chit Challenge” on June 18. The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation, particularly from women employees. Participants picked chits from a specially designed Yoga Chit Box and performed yoga postures, pranayama techniques and wellness challenges mentioned on them. The event created a lively atmosphere while reinforcing the importance of regular yoga practice.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants were presented with attractive goodies as a token of appreciation. Through these initiatives, SECL aims to strengthen employee well-being, create a healthier workplace environment and spread awareness about the benefits of yoga among employees and their families ahead of International Day of Yoga on June 21.
